Since 2013, Phoenix Crane has raised over $160,000 for breast cancer programs in Georgia through our Pink Crane sponsorship of It’s The Journey, producers of the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. We donate a portion of each Pink Crane rental directly to It’s the Journey! If you would like to learn more about where your donation dollars are awarded, we have included a comprehensive list of last year’s grantees, most of whom we have the pleasure of meeting every year at the Awards Gala.
When Phoenix Crane Rental first partnered with the Georgia 2-Day Walk in 2013, a brand new Terex T340XL was ordered from their Waverly, Iowa factory. Thanks to the generosity of the corporate team at Terex Cranes, our new addition came straight off the assembly line with a shiny coat of pink paint. To our surprise, one of the women at the facility was fighting a battle of her own with breast cancer, so all of the women gathered in support.
Our Pink Crane’s first job was scheduled at Opening Ceremonies of the 2014 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer in downtown Atlanta. “Stella” was a huge hit with the participants, and the media! CBS came out to interview our management team and the crane’s operator after we presented our first donation to It’s the Journey.
Since it started working, the Pink Crane has participated in numerous community events around Atlanta, both raising awareness for the 2-Day Walk and teaching the public about mobile cranes at work.
Phoenix Crane’s 40ton pink Terex is spotted all over town. As a working crane, “Stella” spends her days on jobsites placing HVAC units, setting trusses, lifting steel into place, and anything else one of our mobile hydraulic cranes would do.
