Phoenix Crane Gets a 40-ton Pink Terex

Family-owned crane company boldly shows its support for the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer by painting one of its 40-ton cranes pink and donating a portion of its revenues to the cause.

Mableton, GA – August 13, 2013 – Phoenix Crane Rental of Mableton, GA proudly announces its support for the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, produced by It’s the Journey (www.itsthejourney.org) with a generous corporate sponsorship and a newly painted and decaled 40- ton Terex crane to show it off.

Family owned and operated since 1983, Phoenix Crane Rental (www.phoenixcrane.com) is spearheading an effort within the crane industry and their community by donating a portion of the revenues generated by the Pantone® pink crane to the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, whose mission is “to strengthen Georgia’s breast cancer community by raising money and awareness for local organizations throughout the state that focus on breast cancer education, screening, early detection, supportive services, and continuing care.”

In addition to general donations and volunteer efforts, corporate sponsorships are critical in deepening and expanding the organization’s impact.  This year alone, the nonprofit awarded grants totaling over $500,000 to 19 breast health and breast cancer programs across Georgia. In sponsoring the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, and with a shiny new coat of pink paint courtesy of Terex Cranes, the pink crane seen around town contributes substantially to free mammograms for women in need, promotes early breast cancer detection and provides educational programs that offer answers and advice to anyone whose life is touched by breast disease.

“Over the years, we have contributed regularly to a variety of charities, but have not gotten involved with any particular cause with passion, until now” said Mike Phillips, President of Phoenix Crane. “We knew we had the resources to contribute and the willingness to become involved, we just needed the right partner.  Looking at the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, which is also a local organization, we feel we have found our partner.”

National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certified crane operator Jessica Ives has operated the pink crane since its maiden voyage just after Mother’s Day on May 14, 2012 and will gladly continue to do so.  “Phoenix Crane has every intention to keep the crane in operation for the lifetime of the equipment” said Karen Barton, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President.  “Every dollar we can contribute yields a far greater personal and organizational return than anything else we could have gotten involved in.”
